Ruutu suspended two games for biting

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ottawa Senators forward Jarkko Ruutu was suspended for two games for biting Buffalo''s Andrew Peters during a game, the National Hockey League said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred midway through the first period of Buffalo''s 4-2 win over the Senators on Tuesday, when Ruutu was involved in an altercation with Peters, who had pushed his glove into the Finn''s face.

Ruutu denied biting Peters, who received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the incident while Ruutu was not penalized.

Ruutu, who was suspended for two games in November, is now considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and will forfeit $31,707.32 in salary.
