Defar breaks world women''s indoor 5,000 record

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Ethiopian Meseret Defar broke the women''s world indoor 5,000 meters record on Wednesday when she clocked 14 minutes 24.37 seconds.

Defar, undefeated indoors in six years, broke compatriot Tirunesh Dibaba''s previous mark of 14:27.42.
