Hayden and Colts agree to multi-year deal

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Cornerback Kelvin Hayden and the Indianapolis Colts have agreed a new contract, the NFL team said on Thursday.

The deal is for five years and worth $43 million according to multiple media reports.

"I did not want to go anywhere else, and I am excited it has ended this way," Hayden said on the Colts website (www.colts.com). "I started my career here and hopefully, I can finish here.

"I want to finish where I started.

"I have grown a bond, a four-year bond, and I am happy this will continue."

The Colts second-round draft choice in 2005, Hayden has 229 career tackles and six interceptions, including three last season.

Hayden also had an interception return for touchdown in the Colts''s Super Bowl win over the Chicago Bears in 2007 to clinch a 29-17 victory.
