Senators take back Comrie in trade with Islanders
| OTTAWA (Reuters) - The struggling Ottawa Senators acquired defenseman Chris Campoli and center Mike Comrie from the New York Islanders in exchange for center Dean McAmmond and a 2009 first round draft pick on Friday. It will be the second tour of duty in the Canadian capital for Comrie, who played 61 games for the Senators during the 2006-07 season helping take Ottawa to the Stanley Cup final against the Anaheim Ducks. In 41 games with the Islanders this season, Comrie has seven goals and 13 assists. In 503 career NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Senators and Islanders, he has recorded 151 goals and 331 points. Campoli, a seventh round pick in the 2004 draft who had spent his entire career in New York, brings a physical presence to the Senators blueline but can also put up some points scoring six goals, 17 assists for New York this season. McAmmond, a 15-year NHL veteran, has played in 44 games with the Senators (22-26-9) this season, scoring three goals and seven points.
